Deirdra Armsby

A Town Planner by training and practice, Deirdra has over 35 years experience in urban regeneration and development, across 4 London boroughs, most recently as Director of Town Planning and Building Control at Westminster City Council and before that as Director of Regeneration and Planning at the London Borough of Newham.
Through these roles, she has worked across various systems of decision making in Local government and with multiple agencies and stakeholders honing skills in negotiation, strategy, people and place leadership and neighbourhood renewal. Notable projects include Glass Gallery at V&A, Hackney City Fringe Strategy, Strand Aldwych, Olympic legacy SPG, co locating health & Planning teams and GLA and borough teams to speed and promote growth.
Deirdra has been on the Board of Dolphin Housing Association, National Housing Forum (streamlining Planning contributor) and the NLA Expert Panel on Planning, and she is an advisor to the BAME Planners Network, MHCLG practitioner pool, and a Trustee of ReNew Mental Health Charity.
Deirdra works with LCA on a consultancy basis, bringing a great depth of understanding to both our clients and the LCA team.

Deirdra loves a festival, music and the arts – whatever brings a reason to gather and dance! Fun is also found in travel, town & country walks, adores Jane Austen and her book club and is about to take up sewing classes…
